We left Kusadasi bright and early this morning to get to Ephesus before the cruise-ship crowds arrived. And despite our punctual arrival, the place was already swarming with tourists from across the globe. If you ever go to Ephesus, get there very early! Besides having to weave your way through thronging masses of people, there is also very little shade and it was sweltering! Seeing all the ancient buildings was definitely worth it though – from the Celsus library to the Great Theatre (still in impeccable condition). Loved the incredible detail in the mosaic work, dating back to 1st century AD. After a long day in the sun am so looking forward to tomorrow… Our first day off in 2 weeks!
