Following a tough and dry start to 2018, wineries across the Cape were relieved by the rain received over the winter months, ensuring 2019 harvests were still a reality. Durbanville Hills is one of the wineries that has managed to prevail over the dry period and will be celebrating their 21st Harvest season.
Every Wednesday at 18h00, from the 20th of February until the 27th of March, the winery invites wine lovers to enjoy an exceptional harvest experience at just R275 per person whereby guests will get to submerge themselves in all things wine related.
Martin Moore, Durbanville Hills Cellar Master, says that upon arrival guests will be treated to a glass of Durbanville Hills’ renowned Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc followed by an intimate cellar tour with one of the winery’s expert wine ambassadors. “This year we have included a tank and barrel tasting for guests to partake in during the cellar tour as we want the consumer to be as educated as possible about the wine they are drinking. While in the cellar, guests will be treated to the rare opportunity to taste the wines at the different stages of the wine making process.
Moore adds that guests will be treated to a delectable two-course dinner in the restaurant following their tour with all wines available to be perfectly paired with your meal.
