Naked Kitchen and Coffee Bar

Coffee aficionados and lovers of good food can rejoice as The Naked Kitchen & Coffee Bar pairs the finest quality coffee with a delicious menu of top-notch café delights.

We recently popped into the Naked Kitchen and Coffee Bar for a leisurely breakfast. By Shaun Els and Victor Barbosa, this trendy coffee spot in Morningside is what all of our breakfast dreams are made of. The extensive menu has something for everyone.

Caffeine lovers can look forward to cappuccinos, espresso frappes, iced coffees, cold-brew coffess, flavoured lattes and so much more. On the foodie side of the menu, diners can look forward to an array of dishes made with fresh produce and passion. The standard breakfast menu at Naked Kitchen and Coffee Bar comprises everything from slow-cooked rolled oats to eggs Florentine.

The bagel breakfast sandwich with poached eggs, pan sautéed brown onions, baby spinach, whipped cream cheese and salsa verde with either bacon or salmon is a real breakfast treat. We also opted for eggs our way on toast with a couple of rashers of streaky bacon – a beautiful, but simple, breakfast that was definitely made with love. To end off a lovely morning, we were tempted into a slice of home-made banana bread and I am so glad we said yes. Wonderfully moist and filled with flavour, this banana bread easily rivals my mother’s recipe.

Everything, from the bright neon sign that reads: “you’re my favourite addiction” to the coffee and the food itself is extremely Instagrammable. The Naked Kitchen & Coffee Bar is located in Morningside Shopping Centre, corner of Rivonia and Outspan Roads, and is open seven days a week.
