It’s easy to imagine that whatever you order from the Sky Villa Boutique Hotel ’s kitchen is going to taste amazing. That’s because the restaurant’s setting is the ultimate seasoning: as its name suggests, you’ll take your seat high up on the hills, surrounded by pastel smudges of fynbos and the blue glint of the sea. It’s simply stunning.
So, too, is the food. Sky Villa Boutique Hotel is fast gaining a name as the place for lazy brunches in Plettenberg Bay, and it’s easy to see why. In addition to a feast of fresh fruit, cheeses and salmon served on the buffet, there’s also a host of delicious hot dishes to serve from. Our favourite? Eggs royale: plump fillets of salmon trout on a springily fresh English muffin with perfectly poached eggs, spinach and hollandaise. Those with a sweet tooth will also delight in the French toast; fluffy on the inside, drenched in maple syrup with a touch of bacony crunch.
It’s also worth stopping by for dinner. Top menu picks here include the salmon tartare and avo stack, popping with fresh Asian flavours, as well as the pork belly. The Live by Chocolate – a double-decker mousse drizzled with salted fudge sauce and almond brittle ice cream and accompanied by a bitter chocolate and nut cigar – is well worth the calories.
Easter special: Sky Villa Boutique Hotel is hosting a special Easter lunch and Egg Hunt for R195 per person on 21 April 2019.
