Baked king prawns with feta
Prawns no longer have to be boring! Elevate the deliciously classic baked prawns with a crumbling of feta
SERVES 4| HANDS-ON TIME 10 min | TOTAL TIME 40 min
INGREDIENTS
BAKED KING PRAWNS
- 1 kg uncooked king prawns, shelled and deveined, tails intact
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400 grams bottled passata
- Few drops Tabasco, to taste
SERVE
- 100 grams feta, crumbled
- 2 tbsp coarsely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Fresh crusty bread, to serve
METHOD
PREHEAT the oven to 180°C.
COMBINE king prawns, oil, onion, garlic, passata and Tabasco in a 1 litre ovenproof dish. Season well and sprinkle with feta.
BAKE uncovered, for about 30 minutes until prawns are cooked through.
SERVE the baked king prawns with feta and top with a sprinkling of freshly chopped parsley. Serve along side freshly baked bread
<Food team tip > This dish is best served alongside freshly baked bread to mop up the delicious sauce. or optional, serve with rice for a hearty family style meal.
