It’s about big moments made simple – with a Flapjack and a whole lot of heart.
Sometimes, the most meaningful moments aren’t the grand gestures – but rather the quiet ones. A slow morning, a homemade breakfast – and a warm bite shared between the people you love most.
That’s exactly what Rego (@regodise) did for the love of his life Dise recently. The South African couple, known for their honest take on love, parenting, and family life, reminded us just how meaningful the simple things can be.
Rego stepped into the kitchen and whipped up something sweet, simple, and full of love. His go-to? Soft, fluffy vanilla flapjacks with bursts of fresh blueberry and a golden drizzle of honey.
And, of course, no flapjack recipe could be complete without a dash of Royal Baking Powder – the pantry staple that brings it all together.
Rego’s Blueberry Vanilla Flapjacks recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon Royal Baking Powder (for that signature fluff)
- 2 – 4 tablespoons sugar (to your taste preference)
- A pinch of salt
- 1½ cups full-cream milk
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or essence
- A handful of blueberries
- Honey syrup, for drizzling
Method:
- Mix the dry ingredients together:
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, Royal Baking Powder, sugar, and salt. - Blend the wet ingredients:
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla together. Slowly pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. - Fold in the blueberries:
Gently mix the juicy fruit in to add a little pop of flavour and colour. - Cook your flapjacks:
Heat a pan over medium heat, lightly grease it, and spoon in the batter (about 2 – 3 tablespoons per flapjack). Cook for 2 – 3 minutes on each side until golden and fluffy. - Serve with love:
Stack, drizzle with honey syrup, and enjoy — ideally with someone special.
Big Moments Don’t Need to Be Loud
Whether it’s for a partner, a parent, or even just a treat for yourself, Rego’s breakfast moment is a reminder that big love lives in the little things. It lives in thoughtful gestures, in being present, or even in passing the syrup across the table with a smile.
And with a little Royal Baking Powder, it’s easier than you think to make those everyday moments feel like something more.
