The mountain town of White River is home to a collection of unique coffee shops waiting to fill you with delicious cakes and coffee. Whether you’re a devoted coffee lover or simply seeking a pretty space to sip a cosy cup of tea, these coffee shops offer a blend of artisanal flavours and ambiance.
1. Yoon’s Eatery
While away an afternoon feasting on views of the macadamia orchards that sprawl out below Yoon’s Eatery windows. The eatery has tall ceilings, hanging plants, and a modern feel. The plating of the food is almost too good to tuck into, although you most definitely will tuck into the delectable dish in front of you.
2. Orange Owl Coffee Shop
Pop into the Orange Owl Coffee Shop for a big breakfast fry-up and coffee, or a hearty lunch and crisp glass of white wine. The coffee shop is kept warm during winter with big mushroom heaters to keep you cosy while enjoying your meal. Their free WiFi means you can get some work done while your kiddies enjoy the outdoor play area and ceramics painting.
3. Sabie Valley Coffee
You can’t visit White River without a trip to Sabie Valley Coffee at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre where ‘it’s all about coffee.’
Sabie Valley Coffee began as a coffee-growing business in Hazyview in 1984 by the Buckbridge family. Over time, they realised that the best way to grow the business was through ‘roasting, packing, and distributing [their coffee beans] under their own brand.’ You’ll struggle to choose from their menu of espresso-based drinks, as everything looks so good.
4. Plantsman Eatery
Plantsman Eatery is a must-visit coffee shop in White River, serving only the most delicious Terbedore Coffee and carrot cake. This country-style eatery has ‘hearty food, great vibes, and delicious baked goods’ and is kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and a great country lunchtime escape.
5. Sip Coffee Cafe and Deli
There’s nothing better than indulging in tea and cake in the sunshine, especially at Sip Coffee Cafe and Deli. Enjoy a tasty meal at one of their tables, or make yourself at home and cosy up on one of their couches. They often post food specials on their social media pages that you should definitely take advantage of.
