Primedia Studios has secured the rights for the upcoming 5th season of MasterChef South Africa, a series represented internationally by the media and entertainment giant Banijay. The production helm for the new season will be taken over by Cape Town-based Homebrew Films, continuing from their successful management of the fourth season last year.

Pick n Pay is set to return as the headline sponsor for the upcoming season. The victorious contestant in this 5th season of the amateur chef competition will be awarded a substantial prize of R1 million.
