• Masterchef finalists Siphokazi Mdlankomo and Claire Allen, also known as Short Chef Skinny Chef are performing two food demonstrations at the People’s Port Festival on March 25th and 26th.

    Head to the demo stage area at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday to see Siphokazi cook up a storm, with Claire following at 2pm, who will be using green line fish for her demo. The Short Chef Skinny Chef live show will be on Saturday at 4pm and on Sunday at 11am.

    In addition to enjoying being entertained by Siphokazi and Claire, visitors to the free festival will also be able to participate in a fish braai competition, purchase fresh fish at the festival’s market, chow-down on street food from over 20 food trucks, and enjoy dining in the Bocadillos pop-up restaurant.

    “The event isn’t just about showcasing the port and the cargo that is imported and exported,” adds Dana. “Visitors can enjoy entertainment from national artists, purchase fresh produce in our fish market and even participate in watersports.”

    Entrance to the event will be via Baakens Street and the Campanile entrance. There will be plenty of free parking available with hop-on-hop-off buses within the port running between the parking areas and the festival activities. Gates open at 10am, and close at 10pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
