• Perfectly timed to bring a plethora of artisanal gifting ideas to shoppers ahead of Christmas, Hyde Park Corner is delighted to welcome VYx44, a collaborative store conceptualised to bring the artisans, makers and designers from arty 44 Stanley and Victoria Yards to the north.

44 Stanley and more recently Victoria Yards have re-invented urban spaces in Johannesburg and brought together local makers and artisans. Although distinctly different, both properties focus on sustainable practices and a return to artisanal craft and making with an increased emphasis on social development.

Hyde Park Corner brings these artisans, makers and designers to you and YVx44 is a place to discover fashion and accessories, furniture and décor, craft and design and coffee from Africa’s first Certified Fairtrade, organic coffee roaster.

Housed where Edgards used to be at Hyde Park Corner, YVx44 is a perfect addition to the Hyde Park Corner’s mix of elegant and upmarket stores, restaurants, medical practitioners, aesthetics, movies and experiences.

The participants in YVx44 are: Bean There Coffee Company, Bonsai Studio, Colony Design, Guillotine Design, Lunar, Odrin, Rowdy Bags, Lucky Fish, Moma Apparel, Mungo Design, Mambu Design, Ashanti Shades, Coote & Wench, David Krynauw, Delaney Studio, Drybone co, Koop Studios/Mpho Clothing, Ours Alone, Sarah Cronin Designs, Smelt, Tarp & Twill, There & Back, Tshepo the Jeanmaker, Wrapt Knitwear, YOL and Young Bucks.

Make sure you stop at the Pyjama Shop for the perfect stocking stuffer! We love the trendy design and the fabric will definitely ensure a good night’s sleep.

For the travellers in your life, a beautiful suitcase wrap from There & Back under the tree will win you at least 15 brownie points.

We also love the variety of knitwear from Wrapt Knitwear – a wonderful spoil for the ladies in your life.

And while you’re doing your Christmas shopping, make sure you grab a cup of Bean There coffee!

If you still have to do some festive gift shopping, don’t miss out on the opportunity to do some late-night shopping until 8pm every Wednesday until  11 December 2019.
