    Homemade almond milk

    Alternative milk
    Serves: 500 ml almond milk
Prep Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 2 days 10 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup almonds
    • 2 cups water

    Instructions

    1

SOAK the almonds in a bowl of water for at least two days. The longer they soak, the creamier the almond milk will be.

    2

DRAIN and rinse the soaked almonds, they should fell super soft to the touch. Place them in a blender with 2 cups of water.

    3

PULSE for 2 minutes to break up the almonds. Then blend on high for another 2 minutes. The mixture should be filled with almond bits and a milky liquid.

    4

STRAIN the mixture using a clean dish towel or muslin cloth, making sure to press the cloth to release as much liquid as possible (you could buy a nut-bag made for draining nut milks). Sweeten to taste and store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
