• … celebrating August with wine, women and song.

To celebrate Women’s Month in August, the Cradle Boutique Hotel – together with leading Johannesburg wine outlet Wine Menu – is hosting the Cradle of Food & Wine Festival, featuring a tasting event that will be represented by some of the country’s top women wine and gin makers. The one day event takes place on Saturday, August 19 from 11:00 to16:00.

While those over 18 can taste wines from some of the more than 10 estates that will be pouring on the day, as well as sample some local gins, the younger ones can enjoy the Cradle Explorers Club which will have a trained guide to take them on a two hour nature walk. An R80 per child charge for the trail also includes a picnic box!

Following the tastings, guests have the option of buying a picnic hamper (bring your own blanket) or enjoying an a-la-carte lunch at the restaurant. All wines at the tasting event will be on offer to purchase and drink with lunch or take home.

Live chilled music will add to the relaxed atmosphere.
