• Our delicious golden syrup dumpling  brings the warmth where it counts.

    Golden syrup dumplings

    Serves: 4

    Ingredients

    • 1 ½ cups self-raising flour
    • 50 grams butter
    • 1 tbsp golden syrup
    • ¾ cup milk
    • 1 granny smith apple, grated.
    • Sauce
    • ¾ cup brown sugar
    • 1/ cup golden syrup
    • 50 grams butter
    • 2 cup boiling water

    Instructions

    COMBINE the flour and butter in a bowl. Rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. Pour in the milk and golden syrup and mix until combined. Fold in the apple

    Sauce

    COMBINE all the ingredients together in a pot and bring to a simmer over a medium low heat.

    To serve

    SCOOP out a large tbsp of the mixture and place it into the sauce. Repeat the process until the dumpling mixture has been used up.

    SIMMER in the sauce for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    SERVE warm with vanilla ice-cream or custard
