• Cape Town’s favourite 5k is turning up the fun in 2018

The Color Run South Africa is rolling-out the grandest parade yet. This year, The Carnival Tour will be rolling, hopping, skipping (and yes, running) through the streets of Sea Point and Green Point Promenade on 10 November. And, as a world first, The Carnival Tour is issuing exclusive medals to all Color Runners that cross the finish line and enter the Festival Zone.

The Color Run cares about community, and this includes a conscious effort to ensure that the region only benefits from the carnival coming to town. The Color Run has committed to leaving Cape Town cleaner than it found it… and even better, over the past five years, The Color Run has perfected the art of the dry clean up. Every drop counts, and not a drop is wasted.

The event will also be minimising mess and mitigating the need for water-based cleaning (we use only non-potable, and only where absolutely necessary, and usually not at all) through massive PVC sheeting, great-big vacuum cleaners, and muscles – meaning more jobs on the day for the region. The organisers are even collecting all the very colourful race tees after the event and distributing these to the needy.

The Color Run is bringing the spirit of the circus, New Orleans Mardi Gras and Rio Carnival to home soil. Come and revel in health, happiness, and community in an atmosphere of pure celebration. The Color Run is the world’s largest untimed running series. It was founded in 2011, with the mission of bringing people together to make the world a happier, healthier place. Dubbed “The Happiest 5K on the Planet”, The Color Run is less about your 10-minute-mile, and more about having the time of your life. The Color Run has now been experienced by over six million runners, in more than 40 countries around the world.

Participants begin the event in their white The Color Run T-shirts (and a touch of the carnival) and complete it in a head-to-toe colour extravaganza!

This year, The Carnival Tour theme brings with it stilt walkers, balloon shapers, music, good-natured clowning around, and colour, colour, colour.
