Clouds Wine and Guest Estate

A jewel of Stellenbosch’s famed Helshoogte Pass, Clouds Wine and Guest Estate offers an unparalleled combination of panoramic views, luxury accommodation, wonderful wine and a seasonal menu courtesy of a resident chef. A stay at the acclaimed estate revolves around the pursuit of life’s pleasures.

The estate remains a working farm and boasts fruitful vineyards, which yield the excellent vintages that are available to guests – or may be ordered online via Cloud’s website. There’s nothing like sipping a glass of Clouds’ perfectly Pink Sauvignon Blanc while lounging in cocoon-like sunbeds on the pool deck with majestic mountain vistas on all sides.

While there are excellent restaurants at nearby estates, foodies need look no further, because Clouds has its own accomplished chef on site, who creates a seasonal menu using locally sourced produce and the pick of Clouds’ own herbs and vegetables straight from the garden.

Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in the strikingly appointed dining area designed by famed Dutch design house, Moooi. A changing menu can be viewed on Clouds’ website. Those in the mood for something lighter can enjoy finger-style food in an outdoors setting, beside the main pool.

Wine lovers can have their palates stimulated by a private wine tasting at Clouds, with their choice of the aforementioned Pink, a bona fide Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir or Chenin Blanc. There’s even a deliciously spirited MCC to tickle the tongue. All of Clouds’ wines are crafted by award-winning winemaker Donovan Rall.

All the rooms and villas were designed to allow guests to appreciate the unforgettable landscapes that lie beyond via large floor-to-ceiling picture windows that let the views become the main feature of the rooms.

With all this at hand, the aptly named estate will indeed leave you on Cloud 9!
