Ham, cheese and mustard galette

Serves: 6 – 8
Cooking Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 x 250g rolls ready-made puff pastry
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) smooth Dijon mustard
  • 5ml (1 tsp) white truffle oil
  • 180g cooked ham, sliced
  • 180g mature Cheddar, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten with a little water
  • 5ml (1 tsp) charcoal sea salt

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Roll open the puff pastry sheets on a floured work surface. Mix the mustard and truffle oil together in a bowl and spread over the pastry, leaving a 1,5cm border all around without mustard. Layer over the ham and Cheddar, then brush the border with a little egg wash.

2

Cover the filling with the other sheet of pastry and press the sides together with a fork to ensure the pastry is properly closed. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with charcoal sea salt flakes. Bake in the oven until golden brown, 20 – 25 minutes. Allow to cool, about 10 minutes, before cutting into slices to serve.
