Iced Chai tea

Iced chai tea recipe

Iced Chai tea is a delicious lightly spiced beverage. This tea is homemade in India, but the South African version comes ready-mixed in a powder, and is already milky. It can be served hot or cold, and is available at most good supermarkets or delis. It’s a sweetly spicy alternative to iced tea or coffee.

Iced Chai tea

Serves: 6
Cooking Time: 5 mins


  • 1,250ml fresh milk
  • 80ml chai tea mix
  • ice, to serve



Warm the milk slightly and mix with the chai tea powder.


Pour into serving glasses and add the ice.


Serve immediately as the ice makes the mixture watery.
