Quick and easy mulled wine

Serves: 6

Mulled wine – there is nothing quite like it. It’s the perfect way to warm up when it’s cold outside.

Ingredients

  • 750ml (3 cups) red wine
  • 50g white sugar
  • juice of 2 oranges
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  • 2 cinnamon quills
  • 4 star anise

Instructions

1

Place all of the ingredients in a medium pot over medium heat. Warm the mixture until just simmering and fragrant, about 10 minutes.

2

Remove from heat and set aside to infuse, about 2 minutes.

3

Serve the mulled wine in heatproof tumblers. Add a few pieces of the flavouring ingredients to each serving.
