White chocolate shards with sumac, orange and salted almonds

    Serves: 6
Cooking Time: 30 mins + 30 mins, to set

    Ingredients

    • 80g roasted and salted almonds
    • 1 orange
    • bottle of sumac
    • 4 x 80g slabs Cadbury Dream White Chocolate
    • edible flowers, to decorate
    • brûléed orange halves, to decorate

    Instructions

    1

Line a baking sheet with a 30cm-piece of baking paper, using short strips of sticky tape to secure the paper. You’ll have to work fairly quickly, so it’s best to have all of your ingredients close at hand.

    2

Roughly chop the roasted and salted almonds, have an orange and a microplane or fine grater ready and a bottle of sumac nearby. Finely chop the slabs Cadbury Dream White Chocolate and add the chopped chocolate to a glass bowl.

    3

Microwave the chocolate on high, 1 minute and 30 seconds. The chocolate will be only slightly melted – this is correct. Stir the chocolate until smooth and completely melted (this will take a few minutes).

    4

Once it’s smooth, pour onto the prepared baking sheet and, using a spoon, spread to a thickness of about 0,3cm. Sprinkle over chopped almonds, a big pinch of sumac and grate over the zest of the orange before the chocolate sets.

    5

Place in the fridge to harden, at least 30 minutes.

    6

Break into shards to serve and garnish with edible flowers and brûléed orange halves, if desired.
