The Month of Her Afternoon Tea – Heirloom Restaurant
Every weekend throughout May, Heirloom Restaurant becomes the setting for an unhurried ritual of taste and connection. The Month of Her Afternoon Tea unfolds across tiers: canapés of wild mushroom and thyme arancini with Kalahari truffle lead into finger sandwiches, among them free-range coronation chicken with Cape raisins on onion bread and grass-fed beef with pepperdew cream cheese.
Warm scones arrive with Chantilly cream, strawberry jam, and lemon curd, before a final flourish of sweets including milk chocolate lavender meringue kisses, guava dulce vanilla cheesecake, and a delicate citrus tartlet. A plant-forward menu is available for guests with plant-based preferences, equal in elegance and care.
Amanda Strydom, Food and Beverage Director at Cape Grace, reflects on the spirit behind the experience: “We wanted to create something that felt genuinely personal rather than simply seasonal. The women in our lives deserve to be celebrated with intention, and every element of this Afternoon Tea has been designed to do exactly that. It is an invitation to slow down, to gather, and to truly honour the women who make our stories worth telling.”
The Month of Her Spa and Afternoon Tea Experience
For those wishing to offer something truly extraordinary, Cape Grace invites guests to pair The Month of Her Afternoon Tea with a 60-minute Swedish Massage at the Fairmont Spa. Available Thursday to Sunday from 14:30, at R1,995 per person, this experience is a gift of restoration and gratitude in equal measure.
