“As the City, we believe that economic participation is a powerful means of empowering communities. We are excited to welcome back the Wynberg Family Festival and look forward to supporting this event.

“With the event’s potential to create over 1,000 part-time jobs, we encourage the community to go out and support all the local businesses the festival showcases, as this generates an income for many families across Cape Town.

“Not only is this event fun for the whole family, it promotes community development and ensures local businesses gain exposure to market their ideas and passions within their community,” said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.

As part of the event’s corporate social investment initiative, it will sponsor and host the Heinz Park Primary School’s annual prom, which serves as an incentive to keep learners in school.
