• Even the best cooks can admit to being a little lazy with certain dishes. This fruit salad with cinnamon syrup is the slothful chef’s go-to for a dessert that’s simple, fuss-free and delicious.

    Fruit salad with cinnamon syrup

    Serves: 4
    Cooking Time: 15 mins


    • Syrup

    • 160g castor sugar
    • 125ml (½ cup) water
    • 5ml (1 tsp) ground cinnamon
    • Fruit salad

    • 1 pineapple
    • 2 kiwi fruits
    • 8 strawberries
    • 100g blueberries
    • 4 nectarines



    Simmer all the syrup ingredients in a pot until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid has reduced to a syrup.


    Slice the fruit thinly, arrange on a dessert platter and serve, drizzled with the syrup.
