Fourways Farmers’ Market

March 6, 2013 (Last Updated: January 11, 2019)

We’re chuffed that the Fourways Farmers’ Market is up and running – something much needed in the area. Happening every Sunday at the Earth Outdoor Living Nursery, the venue is a tunnel of walkways swathed by trees, plants and fragrant herbs (and hay-stacks on the lawn to sit on), creating a lovely outdoors-y setting for adults and kids.

We like that the produce isn’t a repetition of what you see at many markets (olives and oils are kept to a minimum); instead arm yourself with plenty of organic fruit and veg, garlic seeds, wine, cheese, breads and delish meals to go, or to enjoy under the trees at wooden tables. We opted for the clearly popular Balkan burgers, stuffed rotis and freshly squeezed veg juices. If you have time – or cash – to spare, pick up some seasonal herbs or seedlings from the nursery.

9am to 2pm, cnr William Nicol and Montecasino Boulevard.
