• Join three distinct members of the World Culinary Council of Relais & Châteaux for a series of distinct collaborative culinary experiences across FYN and Sushiya, in Cape Town.

    This June, Chef Peter Tempelhoff and his team will present two culinary events at FYN and Sushiya, uniting chefs whose work is rooted in purpose, place, and planet. Joining Chef Tempelhoff are Chef Shinichiro Takagi (two-Michelin-starred Zeniya in Kanazawa, Japan) and Chef Jef Schuur (one-Michelin-starred Bij Jef in Den Hoorn, the Netherlands).

    FYN culinary director, Chef Ashley Moss, will host an exclusive Relais & Châteaux dinner together with the three esteemed chefs. The evening is in honour of World Ocean’s Day with the chef’s cooking to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding of our oceans, while shining light in using sustainable seafood for fine cuisine.

    This once-off collaboration offers diners a 12-course tasting experience, comprised of dishes spanning three continents: Asia, Europe, and Africa. FYN sommelier and service director, Jennifer Hugé, has paired the menu with a curated collection of coastal South African wines, ocean-inspired cocktails, and other delicious libations.

    Expect a more casual and hands-on collaboration with head chef Ryan Reyes and Sushiya founding partners Chef Tempelhoff and Takagi for a sushi-making masterclass. Have a hand at making sushi alongside the chefs, looking forward to a six-piece platter prepared by the trio, paired with Fukumitsuya Junmai Sake. Alternatively, enjoy a sushi and Junmai sake special that will be running for the day, including an omakase platter prepared by chef Tempelhoff, Takagi, and Reyes.
