THE WAKE-UP CALL BRINGS ‘WESTERN LUXE’ FIRE TO WELLINGTON
Dust off your boots and raise a glass: an electrifying night of Western luxury-with-a-conscience rides into Wellington on 28 February, when The Wake-Up Call takes over Dunstone Country Estate – just a one-hour drive from Cape Town. Think live country music under the stars, flame-grilled food, exceptional wines, striking art—and an opportunity to make a real difference.
Dreamed up by South African social media power duo Kiki La Coco and Malcolm Wentzel, The Wake-Up Call is a bold, high-energy gathering where style meets substance. Guests can expect a western-style luxe experience that blends great times, grit and glamour with heart and purpose.
The evening features a fashion show, live performances, and compelling conversations with standout guest speakers, including Anita Lloyd, star of The Real Housewives reality TV show, master NLP coach Michelle Israel, and country singer Johan Casey, whose sound sets the tone for a night that’s both soulful and celebratory.
Art lovers will have front-row access to a charity auction showcasing works by premier artists Anton Smit, Laura Jamieson, and William Sweetlove, among others – each piece an invitation to invest in beauty while giving back.
This is going to be one unforgettable night where purpose meets power,” says Wentzel. “In the busyness of life, it’s easy to forget what really matters. This evening is a pause—a moment to step out of autopilot and reflect on the legacy we’re creating. It’s not about doing more, but about doing better.”
The Wake-Up Call is an initiative of The FKN Army, the non-profit founded by Kiki and Malcolm in 2022. Built on compassion, action, and generosity, the movement harnesses its online reach to amplify kindness, support communities in need, and spark hope across South Africa.
The FKN Army community is more than just a following – it’s a family of like-minded individuals who believe in the power of giving and standing together,” says Malcolm.
All funds raised at The Wake-Up Call will go towards uplifting conditions at Pioneer House, a care home for the elderly in Vanderbijlpark – ensuring the night’s impact extends far beyond the dance floor.
