Siba takes home international award for her fine dining restaurant

In a night of jubilation and South African pride, Siba Mtongana, the celebrated chef, added another prestigious award to her impressive collection. The stage for this  triumph was set at the World Culinary Awards, hosted at Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal Hotel.

The title for Africa’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant was bestowed upon none other than SIBA – The Restaurant. This achievement sent waves of South African pride rippling worldwide.

“Shoo! Where do I even start,” she writes in an Instagram post. “It’s always an honour and privilege to represent my country and continent on a global stage on every project l’ve worked on ever since I started my career in the culinary and food industry with award-winning cooking shows like Siba’s Table and Cooking With Siba airing all over the world… Phakama Mzansi… Phakama Afrika!”

The victory is not just hers; it’s a triumph of an entire team. Siba’s heartfelt appreciation extends to her dedicated restaurant staff, the unwavering support of her landlord, The Table Bay Hotel, and Sun International, who believed in her vision even during the challenges of the pandemic.
