When winter’s chill sets in, few things are as comforting as a steaming mug of a classic hot toddy. Made with black tea, honey, lemon, warming cloves and a splash of whisky, brandy or rum, this cosy drink comes together in just 10 minutes. It’s the perfect nightcap for cold evenings, whether you’re curled up with a book or entertaining friends.
Hot toddy
Ingredients
- 10 ml honey
- 30 ml whisky, brandy, or rum
- 30 ml lemon juice
- 2 bags black tea (of your choice)
- 500 ml water
- 2 cloves
- 2 slices of orange or lemon
Instructions
DIVIDE and place the honey, whisky, brandy, or rum, and lemon juice into two mugs.
BOIL the water and steep the tea bags.
DIVIDE and pour the black tea into the mugs.
GARNISH with a clove and slice of orange or lemon each.
