• We’re venturing out to the Deep South this weekend in search of some of the best breakfast spots. But where exactly is the Deep South? For anyone who doesn’t know, Capetonians fondly refer to the area from Noordhoek all the way around the southern side of the Cape Peninsula ending in Muizenberg as the Deep South of Cape Town.

The area encompasses the coastal suburbs of Kommetjie, Scarborough, Cape Point, Glencairn, Simons Town, Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay. There’s something magical about this part of Cape Town and its sleepy laidback suburbs, the locals are friendly and easy-going, but it’s almost impossible to be anything but friendly and easy-going when you live that close to the ocean.

We’ve created a list and given you a reason to venture out to this rustic coastal haven.
