With just 10 days left to vote in this year’s Porcupine Ridge Pizzeria Challenge, pizza lovers across the country have spoken, and the competition is heating up! Thousands of votes have already poured in from passionate pizza fans eager to celebrate their local favourites.
With votes tallied so far, the Top 10 restaurants – listed in alphabetical order – are:
- Al Pescatore (Ballito)
- Bardelli’s (Kenilworth)
- Charlie’s Pizzeria and Coffee Shop (Benoni)
- Corlie’s Italian (Somerset West)
- Ferdinandos (Observatory)
- Gino’s Pizza (Robertsham)
- Iggs Pizzeria (Montana)
- Julia’s Eatalian (Potchefstroom)
- Oukraal Restaurant (Potchefstroom)
- The Nose Pizza at The Taste Room (Gqeberha)

All this could change of course and over the next 10 days some restaurants could fall out of the top 10 and be replaced by those just bubbling under in the 11 to 20 spots. Voting remains open until midnight on October 31, and every vote counts. Pizza fans are encouraged to visit the official challenge website to cast their vote and help decide which establishment will take home the ultimate title of South Africa’s Favourite Pizzeria for 2025.
The Porcupine Ridge Pizzeria Challenge celebrates South Africa’s vibrant and diverse pizza scene, giving the public the chance to support their favourite spots and discover hidden gems along the way. From the coastlines of Ballito and Gqeberha to the heart of Gauteng and the Winelands, these finalists are proof that great pizza knows no boundaries.
The winning restaurant will be announced in mid-November.
